New Package Functionality: NBWEB

Network Box Feature Update

11/05/2008

As part of our continuing development programme, Network Box announces new features to the user interface. This is part of your service agreement and is at no extra charge. As this will mean an interruption to normal email service of about two or three minutes, support engineers will be contacting our customers in the next couple of weeks to arrange when this would be convenient.

If no notice is required for this short outage in email (all other systems should not be effected), please let our support desk know through the ticket system.

Customers who do not require notice will have this functionality implemented first.

1] WebProxy / Status / Trace Web Usage

Under WebProxy / STATUS, customers will find a new option ‘Trace Web Usage’. This function permits the administrator to run queries against the live transactional database of the web proxy module. Customers can query by user, IP, category, site and date range. The output can be a simple display of matching historical records, or customers can choose ‘Live Watch’ to show the latest activity updated in real-time.

2] Firewall / Status / Trace Blocks

Under Firewall / STATUS, customers will find a new option ‘Trace Blocks’. This function permits the administrator to run queries against the live transactional database of the firewall module. Customers can query by incoming interface, outgoing interface, source IP, destination IP, target protocol, target port and date range. The output can be a simple display of matching historical records, or customers can choose ‘Live Watch’ to show the latest activity updated in real-time.

3] IDP / Status / Trace Blocks

Under IDP / STATUS, customers will find a new option ‘Trace Blocks’. This function permits the administrator to run queries against the live transactional database of the IDP module. Customers can query by incoming interface, outgoing interface, source IP, destination IP, protocol, type and date range. The output can be a simple display of matching historical records, or customers can choose ‘Live Watch’ to show the latest activity updated in real-time.

4] Mail / Status / Trace Messages

Under Mail / STATUS / Trace Message, customers will see the functionality has been changed to match that provided by the new WebProxy/Firewall/IDP trace functions. As well as the previous sender, recipient, subject and date range, customers can now also query by direction and type (clean, delivery failure, pre-scan defer/block, spam or virus block). The output can be a simple display of matching historical records, or customers can choose ‘Live Watch’ to show the latest activity updated in real-time.

5] Quarantine Release - Show release status on search page

In quarantine release, Network Box now shows the release status on the search page.

If you have any questions about these features please contact the support desk and we will be happy to provide further explanation.
